In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson attended the Cowra Breakout 80th Anniversary Church Service, at St Raphael’s Catholic Church, Cowra.

Following this, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended Cowra Breakout 80th Anniversary Wreath Laying ceremonies, and laid the first wreaths, at the Australian and Japanese War Cemeteries, Cowra.

Afterwards, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson, as Patrons, visited the Cowra Riding for the Disabled Op Shop, and then watched riding demonstrations by members of Riding for the Disabled and the Cowra Pony Club at Cowra Showgrounds. For further information, visit rdansw.org.au and ponyclubnsw.org.au

In the afternoon, the Vice Regal Couple met Cr Ruth Fagan, Mayor, Mr Paul Devery, General Manager, and other members of the Cowra Council, at the Cowra Council Chambers. After this, they toured the Cowra Regional Art Gallery.

Later, the Governor and Mr Wilson participated in Cowra Breakout 80th Anniversary commemorations including a World Peace Bell Ceremony in Cowra Civic Square, a Lantern Parade to the Cowra POW Campsite, and a Mayoral Dinner at the Cowra Showground Pavilion, at which Her Excellency delivered the keynote address.
