In the early morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson, attended, and laid the first wreath at, a Cowra Breakout 80th Anniversary Commemoration, timed to occur at the time of the Breakout, at the Memorial Cairn, Cowra POW Campsite.
Later in the morning, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended, and lay the first wreaths at, Cowra Breakout 80th Anniversary Wreath Laying Ceremonies at the Australian and Japanese War Cemeteries, Cowra.
Following this, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended a May Weir Memorial Morning Tea, at the Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre, Cowra.
In the afternoon, the Vice Regal Couple concluded their regional visit to Bathurst, Blayney, Cowra, and Carcoar with a visit to Carcoar Public School, where the Governor officially opened the new school library.
