Visit of the Governor of Tokyo

On 5 February, the Governor received Her Excellency Ms Yuriko Koike, Governor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, at Government House.

Governor Koike was undertaking a two-day visit to NSW, including engagements in Sydney and Newcastle, as part of celebrations for the 40th anniversary of the NSW-Tokyo Sister State Agreement, signed in 1984 by then-Premier Neville Wran.

As the world’s second-largest metropolitan economy, Tokyo is an important trade and investment partner for NSW, with a long history of shared values, economic cooperation, and deep friendship.
