In May 2023, the Governor visited the United Arab Emirates to strengthen diplomatic, trade and people-to-people links with New South Wales.

Among her program of engagements she officially opened the University of Wollongong in Dubai Data Science, Discovery and Innovation Centre, with the UAE Minister for Tolerance and Coexistence, attended roundtables with the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Australia Business Council Dubai, and visited a range of business and cultural organisations with connections to or interest in New South Wales.

The UAE is NSW' largest trading partner in the Middle East.
