The Governor and Mr Wilson spent the final two days of their regional visit to the Wentworth, Balranald, and Hay Shires in and around Hay.

They met Nari Nari Tribal Council members and learned about the innovative cultural, heritage, and environmental rejuvenation and protection programs underway in and around the Gayini wetlands. They also met students and staff from Hay Public School and Hay War Memorial High School, and heard from Hay Shire Council representatives about local achievements and challenges. A ‘BBQ and Bowls’ Community Reception at the Hay Bowling and Golf Club, also offered a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and meet local volunteers and community leaders.

The Vice Regal Couple rounded off their visit by touring the iconic Shear Outback, hearing about Hay Youth Taskforce activities and programs, and presenting awards at the Hay District Cricket Association Presentation Day.
