On Thursday 2 February 2023, the Governor had the privilege of attending the opening of Grace’s Place in Doonside.

A world’s-first trauma recovery centre for children and families impacted by homicide, Grace’s Place will provide tailored support, information and advocacy, and, most importantly, a safe and cherished space for children and young people to begin the process of healing.

A vision of the Homicide Victims' Support Group (HVSG) and named in honour of one of their founders, Grace Lynch, Grace’s Place was realised through the contributions of many in the Blacktown area, and speaks emphatically of the power, compassion, and willingness of community to make vital and sustaining differences to the lives of others.
