On 7 May 2019, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, opened the 57th Session of the New South Wales Parliament. The Governor received a Royal Salute, and inspected an Australian Defence Force Guard and Band in the Forecourt, before proceeding inside to receive and congratulate the President of the Legislative Council and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

Members of the Legislative Council, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and Officers of the House were then presented to the Governor and Mr Wilson.

Following a Reception given in honour of Her Excellency, the Legislative Assembly were called to attend the Governor in the Legislative Council Chamber, where she delivered the Opening Speech of Parliament.
