In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Later in the morning, the Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson travelled to Adelaide to attend a Vice-Regal gathering at Government House, South Australia.

As a consequence of Her Excellency departing the State, The Honourable TF Bathurst AC, as Lieutenant-Governor, assumed the Administration of the Government of New South Wales.

In the afternoon, His Excellency the Honourable TF Bathurst AC, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, conducted the Swearing-In Ceremony of the Honourable Dr Geoffrey Lee as Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans, in addition to his existing portfolios, at Government House Sydney.
