In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council, at Government House.

In the afternoon, the Governor attended a meeting with Councillor Philip Penfold, Mayor and Mr Jeff Smith, General Manager, Maitland City Council, at Maitland Town Hall, at the commencement of a four-day regional visit to Maitland, Raymond Terrace, Port Stephens and Tea Gardens.

Afterwards, Her Excellency visited Carrie’s Place, a community organisation providing domestic and family violence and homelessness services in the Maitland and Lower Hunter region.
