In the morning, in Dubai, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, met with Mr Warren King, Deputy Ambassador, Australian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, Mr Ian Halliday, Consul-General Dubai and General Manager Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, and Mr Moin Anwar, Trade and Investment Commissioner (Middle East), New South Wales Government, Abu Dhabi.
Later in the morning, the Governor met with Mr Othman Aljeda, Chief Executive Officer of Aramex, at the Amarex Head Office, Dubai.
In the afternoon, Her Excellency toured the University of Wollongong in Dubai’s Campus of the Future and attended a working lunch with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Professor Patricia Davidson, and the UOWD Executive Team.
In the evening, the Governor and His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, officially opened the University of Wollongong in Dubai’s Data Science, Discovery and Innovation Centre, Dubai. Also in attendance were Her Excellency Heidi Venamore PSM, Australian Ambassador to the UAE, and His Excellency Abdulla Alsaboosi, UAE Ambassador to Australia.
Concurrently, His Excellency the Honourable Andrew Bell, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, opened the 58th Parliament of New South Wales, at Parliament House.
