In the morning, as a consequence of His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia having departed the country, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia. 

Concurrently, His Excellency the Honourable Andrew Bell, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Government of the State of New South Wales.

In the evening, Her Excellency, as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, attended a Service of Solemn Prayer for those affected by the tragedy at Bondi Junction, at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney.
