In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, delivered the Commemorative Address, and laid the first wreath at the Victory in the Pacific Commemoration Service, at The Cenotaph in Martin Place.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended India’s 76^th Anniversary of Independence National Day Reception, hosted by the Consul-General of India, at Hotel Shangri-La, The Rocks.
