In the morning, as a consequence of His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia having departed the country, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia.

Concurrently, His Excellency the Honourable Andrew Bell, Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales, assumed administration of the Government of the State of New South Wales.

In the evening, representing Her Excellency, Mr Christopher Sullivan PSM, Deputy Official Secretary to the Governor of New South Wales, attended a staged reading of The Laramie Project featuring Dennis Shepard, hosted by The American Australian Association, Tectonic Theater Project, University of Sydney and the U.S. State Department, at the City Recital Hall, Sydney.
