In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, presented The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal to Mr Mark Donaldson VC, and Mr Allan Sparkes CV OAM, in a ceremony at Government House.

In the afternoon, the Governor received His Excellency Mr Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and His Excellency Mr Khalid Almudaifer, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Government of Saudi Arabia, and Mr Salman Hazza Almotairi, Consul-General of Saudi Arabia, at Government House.

Later in the afternoon, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson received Mr Shuichi Tokuda, Consul-General of Japan, accompanied by Mrs Mariko Tokuda, and Ms Minako Tateno, Vice-Consul, at Government House.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended the Bell Shakespeare performance of The Lovers, at the Sydney Opera House.
