Following this, Her Excellency attended, and delivered an address at, a reception celebrating the 78^th Independence Day of the Republic of India, hosted by the Consulate-General of India, at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Moore Park.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the annual Services Reception to acknowledge the service of the Australian Defence Force, St John Ambulance, NSW Police, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance, Corrective Services NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW State Emergency Service, Marine Rescue NSW, VRA Rescue NSW, Surf Life Saving NSW, Australian Red Cross, and The Salvation Army, at Government House.
