In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson received Mr George Dodd, Editor, Sydney Alumni Magazine.

Later in the morning, Her Excellency, accompanied by Mr Wilson, delivered the Commemorative Address and laid the first wreath at the Victory in the Pacific Commemoration Service, at The Cenotaph, Martin Place.

In the evening, representing Her Excellency the Governor, Mr Michael Miller, Official Secretary, accompanied by Mr Wilson, attended the Celebration of the 73^rd Independence Day of India, at the Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney.
