In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, began her Australia Day program, delivering an address at the WugulOra Morning Ceremony, at Barangaroo Reserve. Afterwards the Governor, accompanied by Mr Wilson, fired the starting gun at the Summer Down Under Oz Day 10K Road Race, at The Rocks.

Later in the morning, the Governor, accompanied by Mr Wilson, received the salute and gave the Australia Day address at the Salute to Australia, onboard HMAS Canberra. Afterwards, Her Excellency presided at a Citizenship Ceremony onboard.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Wilson attended the Annual Celebration of Yabun Festival, hosted by the Gadigal Information Service Aboriginal Corporation, in Victoria Park, Camperdown.

In the evening, the Governor, as Patron, and Mr Wilson, attended the Australia Day Reception, hosted by the Australia Day Council, at the Sydney Opera House.
