In the afternoon, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, as official guests, opened the Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair, preceded by a Luncheon, at Fairfield Showground.

In the morning, the Governor, as Patron of the NSW Association of Jewish Service and Ex-Service Men and Women, was represented by her Official Secretary, Colonel Michael Miller LVO RFD, who placed the first wreath at the Communal ANZAC Day Wreath Laying and Commemoration, NSW Jewish War Memorial and Community Centre, Darlinghurst.
