In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, attended the 59th Annual Commemoration Service at the Merchant Navy Memorial, where the Governor placed the first wreath, followed by the Official Opening of the New & Remedial Works, Rookwood General Cemetery.

In the early afternoon, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Afterwards, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended Bondi Junction where the Governor wrote a message in the Book of Condolence and placed a floral tribute following Saturday’s tragic events at Westfield Bondi Junction.  Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Wilson met with Police and other emergency workers and visited Waverley Police Station.
