In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson attended the Official Doxology for His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople-New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady, Redfern.

In the afternoon, the Governor received His All-Holiness, at Government House, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, and The Grand Ecclesiarch Very Reverend Father Aetios.
