In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales and Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Mr Dennis Wilson met with members of the Walgett Local Aboriginal Land Council and subsequently visited the Walgett Aboriginal Medical Centre.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mr Wilson visited the John Murray Art Gallery and the Goondee Keeping Place.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson returned to Lightning Ridge and attended the Opal Queen Ball.
