In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, as Honorary Commodore, accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, officiated at the Decommissioning Ceremony of HMAS Melbourne, at Garden Island, Woolloomooloo.

In the afternoon, the Governor, as Deputy Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, in New South Wales, accompanied by Mr Wilson, officiated and presented awards at the St John (NSW) Annual Awards Ceremony, at the University of Sydney, Camperdown.
