In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, opened the First Session of the 18^th YMCA NSW Youth Parliament, at Parliament House. YMCA NSW Youth Parliament is a youth-led, apolitical program that aims to empower young people to become advocates and change-makers in their communities.

In the evening, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson attended ‘Sounds of Australia’ – the Opening Gala Performance of the Gondwana World Choral Festival, at the Sydney Opera House, preceded by a pre-performance reception.
