In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales met with Port Stephens Councillors and representatives over breakfast at Port Stephens Council, Raymond Terrace.

Afterwards, the Governor visited Seaham Public School, where she met students and staff and viewed a session of the School Parliament program.

Subsequently, Her Excellency received a presentation from the NSW Department of Primary Industries before touring the Port Stephens Fisheries Institute, at Taylors Beach.

In the afternoon, the Governor met with Deputy Commissioners, Commanders, staff and volunteers of Marine Rescue Port Stephens, where she received an overview of the role and operations of the Communications Centre and a demonstration of radio and rescue vessel capability in Shoal Bay.

Later, Her Excellency toured Port Stephens Koala Hospital and viewed the operations of the Intensive Care Unit, clinic, theatre and rehabilitation facilities of the hospital, before meeting with clinical staff and volunteers.

In the evening, the Governor welcomed guests to a Vice Regal Community Reception for community leaders and representatives at Maitland Town Hall.
