In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, laid the first wreath at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day Service, at The Cenotaph, Martin Place.

In the evening, the Governor hosted the annual Services Reception, at Government House to acknowledge the service of the NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW State Emergency Service, Corrective Services NSW, Marine Rescue NSW, NSW Volunteer Rescue Association, the Red Cross, Salvation Army, St John Ambulance, Surf Life Saving NSW, the Office of the Sheriff of NSW, and the Australian Defence Force.
