In the morning, as a consequence of Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales departing the State, the Honourable Justice Julie Kathryn Ward, President of the NSW Court of Appeal, as Administrator, assumed Administration of the Government of the State of New South Wales.

In the afternoon, the Governor returned to Sydney and reassumed Administration of the Government of New South Wales.

In the evening, Her Excellency accompanied by Mr Dennis Wilson, hosted a thank you reception at Government House for Officers and Members of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire and Rescue NSW, Corrective Services NSW, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Rural Fire Service, St John Ambulance, Marine Rescue NSW, VRA Rescue NSW, the Australian Red Cross and The Salvation Army.
