In the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AO QC, Governor of New South Wales, was invested as a Dame of Grace and appointed as Deputy Prior of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, in New South Wales, at Government House.

In the evening, the Governor and Mr Dennis Wilson attended the Annual Dinner for The Royal Society of NSW, at the Swissôtel Ballroom, Sydney.
